Thoeurn, age 45, earns an income by growing and selling mushrooms. She has been engaged in this business for over ten years, earning approximately USD 8 per day. Her husband is a construction worker who earns about USD 5 per day. They live with their three children in Kampong Chhnang Province, Cambodia.
Due to the family's difficulty in accessing transportation, Thoeurn is requesting a loan in the amount of USD 1500 in order to purchase a motorcycle to use for commuting. This purchase will enable her to use the money saved on transportation expenses to support the family.
In the future, she would like to expand her business and rebuild her present house, making it bigger and stronger so as to provide better living conditions for the family.
