A loan of $1,500 helped to hire farm laborers.

Romalda's story

Romalda, 40, is married to Rafael, also 40. They have 5 children and live in their own home located in the town center of Montaro.

Romalda is a hardworking mother who has had many achievements in life. She farms cacao, plantain, and citrus fruit on her own parcel of land, work she has been doing for 18 years. She notes that she learned this work as a young child from her beloved parents. When Romalda got married, she already owned a plot given her by her father. It was there that she and her husband began to cultivate rice and then cacao and citrus fruits; recently they also added plantain.

Romalda is happy that, thanks to her crop production, she succeeded in building her house and educating her children. Now she needs to purchase transportation so that she can transport her products to market. In that way she can eliminate the middleman and obtain 100% of the profit.

This is her second loan with MFP and she once again promises to make her payments promptly. She will invest the S/. 4,000 in harvesting her crops and pulling out the weeds that grow in her plantain and cacao fields. She will hire laborers to do these tasks.
