Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $6,000 helped a member to buy supplies for their confectionary store.

Mujeres Activas Group's story

This group from the city of Encarnación came about when one of the members contacted the foundation. They have been working with the foundation since the year 2010 and they are currently in the 6th loan cycle of the program with Mujeres Emprendedoras.
One of the group members is María. She works making pastries and has a confectionary store in her home where she sells cakes and pies to order and also to people who come to her store. She says things are going well, that she always gets orders and these enable her to keep working and helping her family.
María says she is requesting the loan to buy supplies that she uses in the pastries that she prepares, such as: sugar, butter, colorings, and more. She is grateful to the foundation and to Kiva for the opportunity she has received.
