Rincones Del Sur Group's story

This communal bank called “Rincones del Sur” is comprised of 18 entrepreneurs who work in different fields. These businesses include selling clothing and fruit as well as making clothes and curtains. The majority of the entrepreneurs work at rotating fairs. They all live in the city of Osorno.
Ximena is president of the communal bank. In this photo, she is seated in the first row, in the first seat going from right to left. She is wearing a lilac colored hoodie and jeans. Her hair is down and it is dark brown.
She makes fast food, mainly seafood empanadas. She has been in this business for two years, working from her home and getting help from her family. She works during the weekends from eight in the morning until four in the evening.
She advertises her food by word of mouth and also by using signs.
Her merchandise is bought by wholesalers and distributors.
With the loan, she will purchase seafood and sausages.
One of her goals is to set up a business in her home in order to work in an area independent from her home’s kitchen.
Ximena lives with her husband and their two children who are 14 and 18 years old. One of her dreams, at a personal level, is to finish her early-education degree.
She is very happy and grateful for the opportunity to invest in her business granted by the Fondo Esperanza. She comments that she feels very comfortable in the meetings since the group is committed and collaborating.
On the subject of trainings, they have helped her to generate new sales strategies.
