Soda Yahda Group's story

Ayeshetu is thirty years old. She lives in a rented apartment with her husband, who is a welder, and her child who is currently in school. She trades in maize and soya beans in the local market of Takoradi. Her major difficulty has to do with funds to support the business. She wants to use the loan to buy more bags of maize and soya beans to grow her business and scale up sales. She hopes to increase her savings to support her child’s education.

Ayeshetu belongs to the community group called Soda Yahda Trust Group. In this group, members guarantee for one another as social collateral and assist one another to repay the loan.
