A loan of $625 helped to buy doors, veneer for damp areas, and a ceiling to roof.

Rubys's story

Rubys, 35, lives with her spouse and their six-year-old child in the city of Cartagena. She has had a business for 12 years, selling fruits and vegetables, from which she derives support for her family. Her business is growing more every day. She is looking to set herself up and increase her clientele with her new neighbors, whom she is winning over. She and her family were recently relocated by landslides in Ciudad Bicentenario, a macroproject of sustainable housing administered by the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo in its Dreams and Opportunities program.

She is very satisfied with her new dwelling because she is building her new market, and she also needs to make structural renovations. This is why she requires funding with which to make purchases and offer her products. This is the reason for coming for a Kiva loan, her first funding from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, with which she will buy doors, veneer for the damp areas, and a ceiling to roof.

With her funding she will have a comfortable environment for her work and for the peace of the family, which will increase her possibilities of producing even more and continuing with her dream of business growth and family progress.
