Slko-000408-001 Group's story

Meet the members of the “God Help” group from Koidu, a city in Eastern Sierra Leone. They are local entrepreneurs who have come to SMT, a partner of Kiva.org, to apply for a loan of 500,000.00 Sierra Leonean Leones (SLL) for each. With the help of this loan, they will be able to expand their businesses, increase their sales, and consequently improve their living conditions.

Dora, age 49, is the leader of this group. Her husband is employed as a civil servant and they have four children. Dora has been a businesswoman for 20 years now, selling dried fish. With her share of this loan, she will buy baskets full of dried fish to add to her current stock and to offer for sale.
