A loan helped to help her husband to purchase mangoes under contract for resale.

Sorphea's story

Sorphea, pictured, is 30 years old, and her husband, Soknan, is 32 years old. They live in a village outside Phnom Penh City and they have one son who is in school and one daughter who is still young.

Sorphea is a garment worker, and her husband sells mangoes. He buys mangoes from his fellow villagers under contract; this means that he pays money before the harvesting season and then he collects mangoes to sell at Phnom Penh market.

Sorphea is asking for her first loan in the amount of $1,000 in order to help fund capital for her husband to purchase mangoes under contract for resale.
