A loan of $2,150 helped a member to buy "chipas" to sell.

Mujeres Emprendedoras Group's story

The communal bank "Mujeres Emprendedoras" started up as a result of promotions that were done in their neighborhood. All of the members of this group are from the same neighborhood; they are friends and neighbors. Their goal is to work together to develop a spirit of solidarity, and to rise to the highest level of the program. Maria is one of the members of this group. She has a business selling chipas (cheese filled buns, a traditional Paraguayan snack) which is doing very well, because these are consumed at all hours of the day and during every season of the year. Her goal is to be able to have a big place where she could offer her products for sale.

Maria is requesting a loan to buy chipas. With these, she will be able to continue working, and in this way help her family with the daily household expenses.

In this group: Amalia, Maria, Raimunda, Plabla, Dasmari, Fulvia, Alicia, Florencia, María, Francisca
