Irene's story

The member, Irene, belongs to the Reyna de Los Angelos de Urquillos Communal Bank, located in the district of Urquillos, province of Calca, department of Cusco. She is a 70 year old widow and has five children. She is an artisan and sells her products in Pisac and Ollantaytambo. She makes blankets, dolls, pants, sweaters, pencil holders, and other small crafts. She is requesting the loan to purchase materials in order to continue creating her products. She will buy alpaca wool, synthetic sheep wool, buttons, covers for the dolls’ bodies, paintbrushes, needles, thread, and other materials. Irene is happy to be receiving the loan and promises to make her payments on time.
