A loan of $1,000 helped to buy spare parts for motorcycles.

Mahamadou's story

Mahamadou, a mechanic and spare parts salesman, is 33 years old, married and the father of 5 children. He lives with his family in his father's home, located in the prefecture of Koutiala (Sikasso region). He was unable to continue his primary education due to social reasons, and instead became interested in revenue-generating activities from an early age, learning from his brother. His business is very profitable and generates enough income for him. He gets many orders per month.

Mahamadou has turned to the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso in order to be able to meet his goals of satisfying customer demand and developing his business. This is his first individual loan and it will be used to buy spare parts for motorcycles. He gets his supplies at the Grand Market of Koutiala, and resells them at his place of work as a mechanic in the town of Koutiala, to a clientele of women and men, for cash or credit.

Mahamadou expects to make a profit of 100 000 francs per month, which he will use to make some interest payments, take care of his family's needs and reinvest in his business.
