A loan of $1,325 helped to improve his place of work (an annex).

Luis Miguel's story

Luis Miguel, age 23, is in a common-law marriage, and he has a two year old child. He lives in the city of San Pedro Sula, Cortes.

Seven years ago Luis Miguel established a shop where he does bodywork and paints vehicles. He exercises this business activity because his father taught him when he was very young. He was motivated to have his own business.

He states that it is going very well for him because he has his own customers, and he is getting good working capital. His income has improved, thereby giving his family a better quality of life. He works in his shop eight hours a day.

He is requesting a loan from ODEF for the amount of 25,000 lempiras. The loan is to make improvements to his business like building an annex to his shop. This would be to make his service more convenient for his customers.

With this investment he plans to increase customer demand and to meet his customers’ needs. He will therefore also satisfy his family’s needs.
