Mrs. Cheng L., 58, is a widow with 5 children that stays at home looking after the children and cooking food for the famiL. members. She also owns a plot of farmland and grows a variety of vegetables and makes, on average, about $1.5 a day of profit. Her son, the oldest brother in the famiL., works as a construction worker. On average, he earns $15 a day. Her other four children are employed in the garment sector and each earn a salary of $70 to $80 a month. She requests this loan to make a well (deep well), grow grass (cow food) to sell and to purchase construction tools for her son to use at work.
