Gorret's story

Gorreti lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is a widow with 5 children, only two of them are in school. She also helps additional family members.

Gorreti sells charcoal and bananas at the market. She sells her products on a retail basis. She has been in this business for the last 7 years. She works seven days a week.

Gorreti has requested a loan of 2,000,000 from MCDT SACCO to buy more bags of charcoal and bunches of bananas. Her major challenge is seasonality and transportation. Her goals and aspirations are to start going to villages for charcoal and bananas.

Gorreti lives in a rented house and her family has access to electricity but doesn’t have access to piped water. Her monthly expenses includes medication, rent and school fees.
