A loan of $750 helped a member to buy fertilizer for her dry season rice farming.

Kea's Group's story

Kea is a mother of five children, four of whom are still her responsibility as they are still in school. She is 40 years old and living in one of the remote villages of the Prey Chor district in which rice farming is one of the common businesses. She is a farmer who has been experiencing planting her rice paddy for 20 years to make living. To better feed her family, she also works for others for pay.

In 2011, Kea took her first loan with Visionfund. She succeeded in paying back the loan and she now can earn about US$3.4 per day. The loan has made her a better living, enabled her to save some money, and provided her a proper shelter. Now, she is happy to take a new loan from VisionFund as the leader of the group that consists of another two members. She is requesting a loan of KHR 1,000,000 to buy fertilizer for her dry season rice farming. She hopes that she can keep her children in school and can build a new house.
