Nhor's Group's story

A 50-year-old mother of two dependent children who work as garment factory workers, Nhor is the breadwinner of her family that lives in one of the rural villages of the Prey Chor district in Kampong Cham province. The common business in her residential area is rice farming, and it is also the main source of income for Nhor's family as well. She has been with this business for 16 years and can save about US$1.5 per day. To earn more extra income, her husband works as a motor taxi driver in his spare time from farming. Nhor has just joined VisionFund as a first cycle client. Her group loan consists of another four members, and she has been selected as the group leader. She and her group members are requesting a loan of KHR 1,000,000 each. For Nhor, she will use her loan to buy fertilizers and seed, and to hire labor for plowing her farmland. She hopes that her family's condition will be gradually improved.
