A loan of $500 helped to buy food products.

Diokoura Dite Batoma's story

Diokoura Dite Batoma is 22 years old, married, and the mother of one child. She lives with her husband and child in the Massablacoura neighborhood of Bougouni.

Diokoura Dite Batoma never attended school but became involved in income-generating activities at a very young age.
After trying several activities, such as selling shoes, without much success, she decided to move on to selling food products (vegetables, tubers and coconuts), a trade she learned from her mother. She now has a 5-year experience in this field and manages her business well.

In order to meet the needs of a rapidly increasing number of customers, she has decided to join Soro Yiriwaso and has requested her first loan. With this loan, she is planning to buy 500kg of yams and two baskets of plantains.

She stocks up in Bougouni and Sikasso and resells at the Grand Market in Bougouni, as well as in surrounding villages on weekly market days. Her customers are men and women.

With this loan, she is expecting monthly profits to reach 65,000 CFA francs which will be essentially used to further expand her business.
