A loan of $950 helped to buy merchandise (newspapers and magazines).

Francisca's story

Francisca is a very hard-working woman who lives in the city of Camana, a city that is known for its beautiful beaches, warm climate, agriculture (specifically rice farming), and generosity of its people.

She is the mother of two children ages 15 and 11. She loves them dearly, and they are the reason she lives and works each day. Like a good Peruvian, she loves the traditional food of our country, and one of her favorite dishes is the rich “Arroz Chaufa” (Chinese Peruvian rice). In her free time, she really enjoys watching television, especially the news.

With a lot of effort, Francisca was able to start her business selling newspapers, laminated educational materials, magazines, and other items. Every day she gets up very early to open her newspaper stall. She works about 12 hours per day and can serve up to 20 customers in a day. She thinks she does well with her business because she is attentive to her customers.

Francisca is very grateful for the loans from Kiva. Thanks to the assistance provided, she can buy more merchandise for her business (magazines and newspapers on a payment plan), which will allow her to have new merchandise for her customers and improve her income, and she will continue working toward her big dream: “To provide a good education to her children and buy a cart for newspapers”.
