A loan of $1,500 helped to buy inventory.

Lucila's story

Lucila is 35 years old and is a full and industrious lady. She lives in a home of her own, along with her husband, 44 year old Juan, and her only son, 11 year old Alvaro, to whom they want to provide a better quality of life. Lucila sells groceries, such as rice, sugar, milk, preserves, and snacks among other things. Her business is located at home. She’s been doing this for six years and says that her work is easy. Her husband helps her when he’s free, that is to say when he goes to work his crops. The income that they both generate is for their son’s education and household expenses. In time she hopes that her store grows to be a large one, but for now she wants to increase her store’s inventory. This will be her 6th loan through MFP and she feels glad to be able to count on financial support. She’s a responsible member of her communal bank and makes her payments on time.

She will use the money from this loan to increase her store’s inventory.
