A loan of $200 helped to buy four pigs and bran for the animals.

Ysabel's story

Ysabel is a member of the Las Mujeres de Santa Rosa de Arapa II communal bank, located in the district of Arapa, province of Azángaro and department of Puno. She is 69 years old and married, with eight independent children. She did not study.

She has been working with Movimiento Manuela Ramos for two years. Her first loan was for the sum of 500 nuevos soles (PEN), money she invested in her business selling animals.

Now she is requesting a new loan for the sum of 500 PEN, with which she will buy four pigs and bran for the animals. She fattens the animals for three months and so gets better profits.

Her dream for the future is to continue with the business.

What she likes most about her communal bank is the happiness and the talks.
