A loan of $1,000 helped to buy manure, urea, fertilizer and liquids to kill bugs.

Angel Segundo's story

Ángel Segundo, 48, is married and has five children. He lives with his wife and children in Guaranda Province, Bolívar.

The “Emmanuel” communal bank has 12 members and is located 40 minutes from the office located in Recinto San Juan de Llullundongo belonging to Guaranda.

Ángel farms potatoes and corn and also raises chickens, pigs and cattle. He requests this loan to buy manure, urea, fertilizer and liquids to kill bugs. With help from the loan he will be able to save his harvest.

His purchases and sales take place in Guaranda every 15 days. His dream is to have a vehicle of his own. The challenges he faces are transportation and the weather. In his free time he enjoys playing volleyball and the Carnival season.

Ángel is very grateful for the help from the previous loan because he’s worked and purchased supplies for the crops to obtain more income to cover family needs.
