A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase compost, fertilizer, urea, and liquid pesticides.

Carmen Isaura's story

Carmen Isaura is 37 years old. She is married with four children and they live in Guaranda, in the province of Bolívar. The Emmanuel Communal Bank is comprised of twelve members and is located 40 minutes from the office in San Juan de Llullundongo precinct, Guaranda.

Carmen works in agriculture planting potatoes and corn. She also raises pigs and chickens. She is requesting the loan to purchase compost, fertilizer, urea, and liquid pesticides. With the help of this loan, she will be able to protect her crops frominsect infestations. She makes weekly purchases and sales in Guaranda. Her dream is to own a truck to transport her products. She faces challenges dealing with the middle-men and transporting her products. During her free time, she rests and watches television.

Carmen is very grateful for the previous loan because it helped her to carry on her work and buy supplies for the crops, and in this way, earn more income for the benefit of her family.
