Ángel Segundo, 30, is married and has four children. He lives with his wife and children in Guaranda Province in Bolívar.

The “Emmanuel” communal bank has 12 members and is located 40 minutes from the office located in Recinto San Juan de Llullundongo belonging to Guaranda.

Ángel is a potato and corn farmer and also raises chickens, pigs and cattle. He requests the loan to buy manure, fertilizer, organic manure, urea and liquids to kill bugs. With help from the loan he will be able to acquire the fertilizers to work his crops. His sales and purchases take place in Guaranda weekly and during harvest time.

His dream is to have a vehicle of his own. The challenge he faces is dealing with middlemen. In his free time he enjoys playing volleyball and enjoying Carnival season.

The previous loan has been very good because he has been able to buy fertilizer and seed and he is “very grateful for the timely support provided; please don’t ever forget to support them.”

La VRC Emmanuel está conformada por 12 socios esta ventanilla queda a 40 minutos de la oficina ubicada en el recinto San Juan de Llullundongo perteneciente a Guaranda.
Angel se dedica a ala agricultura a la siembra de papas, maíz, además cría pollos, cerdos, ganado.
Solicita el crédito para comprar abonos, fertilizantes, abono orgánico, urea, líquidos mata plagas. Con la ayuda del crédito podrá adquirir los fertilizantes para trabajar en los cultivos.
Las compras y las ventas lo hace en Guaranda semanalmente y en tiempo de cosecha.
El sueño es poder tener un vehículo que sea propio. Los desafíos a los que se enfrenta son los intermediarios.
En el tiempo libre le gusta jugar boly y disfrutar de las fechas del carnaval.

El CREDITO ANTERIOR ha sido muy bueno porque ha podido comprar los fertilizantes, semillas y esta "muy agradecido por la ayuda brindada, oportuna y que no se olviden nunca de apoyarles".

This loan is administered by Cooperativa San Jose, a 45,000-member credit union located high in the Andes Mountains of Ecuador’s poorest province, Bolivar. They offer a unique loan called “Ventanillas Rurales” [Window to the Countryside], which uses a group guarantee but is an individual loan with a savings component, mostly to rural borrowers. Concurrent and Successive Loans

Our Field Partners often work with borrowers over a series of loans as the borrowers build credit, take out bigger loans, and expand their businesses. In order to make it easier for our Field Partners to post loans for borrowers who have been listed on Kiva before, we allow them to post successive and concurrent loans for their Kiva borrowers. This means that our Field Partners are able to post a borrower's second, third, etc., loan on Kiva without having to re-enter all of the borrower's information.

Most borrowers take out loans consecutively, meaning that they receive a second loan after having repaid the first. However, sometimes our Field Partners give out concurrent loans, allowing borrowers to take out one primary loan and a secondary "add-on" loan along with it. These "add-on" loans are typically smaller than the borrower's primary loan and serve a different purpose. Because Field Partners can now post loans as successive and concurrent loans, you will be able to track borrower progress over time and see the various ways a borrower is working with our Field Partners through funds from Kiva’s lenders.
