Escolastica's story

Escolástica is a member of the Communal Bank, "Las Mujeres de Santa Rosa de Arapa II (The Women of Santa Rosa of Arapa II)" located in the district of Arapa, province of Azangaro and department of Puno. She is 60 years old and married with six children (five of whom are independent). She is also responsible for a granddaughter who lives with her. Escolástica did not attend school.

For a cycle working with Manuela Ramos, her first loan was in the amount of S /. 500.00 new soles, which she used to buy four sheep. Escolástica is also involved in selling native products and milk.

Now Escolástica is seeking a new loan for the sum of S /. 800.00 new soles to invest in the purchase of pigs and bulls to fatten for three months. Escolástica tells us that she buys and sells in the town of Taraco. She works with her husband, who also works as a veterinarian.

Escolástica's dream for the future is to have improved earnings. What she likes most about her communal bank is the ease of getting loans.
