A loan of $750 helped to buy merchandise (citrus fruit for the winter months).

Walter Jesus's story

Walter lives in the city of Ica, a city known for its year-round warm climate. He works in agriculture for one of his primary jobs, especially in the harvest of grapes, asparagus, and lima beans. Walter is a very hard working and enthusiastic person. Together with his wife they have 3 children who are 16, 12, and 1 year old. With a lot of hard work he was able to start a business selling fruit in the city market. He works around 8 hours a day, and he can have about 70 customers. He believes that his business is going well because he offers quality products that are above all fresh.

Walter is very thankful to the Kiva lenders since, thanks to the help he’s gotten, he’s been able to buy seasonal merchandise, especially citrus fruits to sell in the winter months. That allows him to have more income and keep on working so that he can achieve his biggest dream: “to have his own store.”
