A loan of $3,000 helped a member to buy supplies to knit wool sweaters.

Alpaquitas - 26 Group's story

The Emprendimiento Alpaquitas communal bank consists of nine members, seven women and two men. Brenda, 39, is the president. She is married and has 2 school-aged children. Brenda knits and sells clothing and sweaters made of alpaca wool and her workshop is in the Sopocachi area. This loan will be the first cycle in the institution and she will use it to buy wool to knit into sweaters since she has orders to fill. The reason why she is requesting the loan is to increase her working capital. Brenda has challenges in her business that are to start a micro business partnership and she will use the money to look for an established market so as to be able to sell not only sweaters but also other pieces of clothing in alpaca wool. Brenda is happy and grateful that the institution has offered her support.
