Nukri's story

Nukri is 36 years old. He lives in a rural area near Tbilisi, the capital city of the country. Nukri is married and lives with his family: his wife ,Tamar, his 3-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter. Nukri and Tamar earn a living through agriculture. Nukri works hard during the whole day on the family-owned dairy farm with 10 cows. Tamar takes care of their children and also helps Nukri on the farm. They produce and sell on average 100 kg of cheese and milk in Tbilisi. Also the family has 20 sheep. They sell lambs, as well as cheese, made from sheep’s milk. The total average monthly income of the family is 700 Laris.

Nukri has requested a loan to purchase feed for their cows. He will use purchased feed for two months. As the cows will be fed properly, they will retain productivity and the family will get the planned amount of milk for dairy products. Starting from May, there will be fresh grass and the cows won’t need hay any more.
