Maarouf is a 34-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and two school-aged children. He’s trying his best and working hard in order to be able to satisfy his family's needs.
After one year of experience in used car sales, Maarouf decided to start working on his own on a free-lance basis in 2005. In parallel, he’s working as a manager in a pastry shop.
Today, he wants to take out a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase a new car for his business. He notes that this will increase the number of his cars and therefore boost his sales. In the future, he plans to open his own cars showroom.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
