Taurng is a 38-year-old married woman who has been living in Kompong Cham province, her hometown. She has had a cultivating business. She grows a couple of crops like potatoes, beans and especially rice. To manage this work efficiently, Taurng has her spouse and several children who are involved with the business alongside her. She has been in this business for more than 13 years, thus she has obtained good experience from it. She presently lives with three single children, while the other two are already married and live separately.
Taurng would like to get a loan from Kiva lenders to rent a piece of farmland, which is located near the river to grow dry-season rice. With a segment of this amount, she will buy rice seed to put in her soil. This loan enables Taurng to get her business developed in the coming days. Her wish is to provide her children a good education.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
