A loan of $1,500 helped to buy more clothing.

Ercilia's story

Ercilia, 40, is married to Dario, 44, and together they have five children. They live in their own home in the district of Llochegua. Ercilia sells clothing in her store in her district. She says that she got started thanks to her own initiative - from a very young age she dreamed of having her own business, and one morning she saw that a neighbor was selling clothing. The neighbor was the only one at that time, and didn't sell much because they weren't competent. So Ercilia, with capital from selling produce from her farm, was able to open up her clothing store. She didn't yet have much experience so there were setbacks, but she was able to overcome them. Now she has store stocked not only with clothing but also shoes, and it's going very well. Ercilia is happy with her business because it makes a good profit thanks to her good reception. Later she would like to continue growing the business, maybe by opening a branch in another district.

This is her first loan with MFP and she promises to make her payments punctually. Ercilia is happy with her village bank because they are transparent in their work. With the 4,000 nuevos soles she will buy more clothing.
