A loan of $800 helped to purchase fabric to make clothing in his shop.

Jorge Ricardo's story

Jorge is a 60 year old man. He lives with his wife and two children, ages 15 and 18. They live in the Abraham Calazacón Parish in Santo Domingo, which is the fourth most populated city in Ecuador. Its population is growing rapidly because it is rich in trade and has the largest cattle market in the country. Its normal temperature is 25.5°C and sometimes reaches 38 °C. The entire province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas is part of the mountainous territory along the coast of the western mountains and is historically known as the Province of Yumbos and the Colibríes Capital. This province is considered new because it was created in 2007.

For the past thirty years Jorge has had a shop where he makes clothing, a trade he learned from his brother. With this income, he maintains his home. He is requesting the loan to purchase fabric in order to increase production and, thereby, increase his income. This is his second loan with Fundación Alternativa and he has distinguished himself as a client who is very punctual with his payments. His dreams of being able to see his business grow and giving his family everything that they need to have a better lifestyle.
