A loan of $500 helped to buy basic grains, oil, eggs, milk, bread, cleaning products, oats, canned food, cookies, candies and snacks.

Joel Antonio's story

Joel is a shopkeeper from Palacaguina, Estelí. He owns a grocery store that he has been running for six years. He has an eight-year-old son who is in third grade. Joel started his business with some savings that he had. He had previously left the country to work and when he returned he set up his grocery store which he runs together with his wife. From that time on, this has been his only business.

Joel needs a loan to buy basic grains, oil, eggs, milk, bread, cleaning products, oats, canned food, cookies, candies and snacks as these are products that his customers request a lot and he needs to stock his store with them. Although his store is still small, he would like to further expand his sales and turn it into a stable business that continues making good income as it has up to now.
