A loan of $425 helped to buy maize and wood for her tortilla business.

Maria Jorge's story

Doña María is a single mother and she lives with her two daughters and her grandson in the city of Langue in the department of Valle in the south of Honduras.

Her business is selling tortillas. Her stand is located in the municipal market in Langue. She also sells her tortillas in various restaurants and cafeterias in the city and also in her house. She is requesting the amount of 8,000.00 lempiras to buy maize, wood and material to improve the workshop in which she makes her tortillas, and she hopes that this will allow her to make more tortillas, thus improving her income.

One of her plans for the future is to buy a machine to make tortillas in order for her business to grow. This will earn her a better income and help her family.
