Rew Kertienne Group

Senegal
Senegal / Restaurant

A loan of $4,325 helped a member to buy food products for her restaurant, as well as chicks.

Rew Kertienne Group's story

Rew Kertienne Group was established when the Banc Villageois opened. It is made up of 11 women coming from the same village and running the same businesses, retail and raising livestock.

Mrs. Odette, standing on the right in the photograph and shown in the inset, is responsible for the group. She's 44 years old, single and without children, but she has her niece and one of her sisters to support.

Her loan will enable her to buy food products (rice, oil and condiments) she needs for the restaurant she runs. She prepares lunch and dinner.

She has a lot of experience in food serving, since she's been running this business for several years. Her customers appreciate the food she prepares. She also raises chicken.

Her profits will enable her to improve her standard of living and ensure the children she has in her care get a good education.
