Marcelo's story

Marcelo, 28, sells merchandise like clothes, cologne, accessories, etc. He lives with is spouse and two year old son in the town of San Juan Nepomuceno.

To start his business, Marcelo took advantage of experience his spouse had in commerce because she worked in her own business before going to Spain in search of employment. When she returned, she recovered her market so that Marcelo could start the same activity with her best customers. His goal for later on is to have a well situated store in town with several lines of commercial products. His great challenge is not having enough working capital to accomplish this.

He is applying for a Kiva loan at present, his first financing with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo to buy informal clothes, like pants, and cosmetics. His investment will be successful because he will have more working capital at hand for his purchases without having to wait for his customers that he’s sold to on credit to pay him back.

While working towards reaching his dream, he has a profit margin of no less than 40%, a financial indicator from which we can project successful growth due to his experience supported by his spouse and his market potential.
