A loan of $1,725 helped to buy three computers and another photocopier.

Jair Enrique's story

Jair, 26, lives in the south of the city and has a business through which he provides Internet access services, photocopying and phone calls. His business started a year ago after having finished running an Internet café in a sector in the north of the city where he acquired all his experience. This is how he got the idea with his girlfriend to start this same kind of business. She rented a locale and he installed the equipment and they started their adventure in work. His business’ clientele is growing every day and there are times when he’s unable to meet demand which has become his great challenge for growth because they don’t have enough working capital to do so.

This is why he’s calling on a Kiva loan, his first financing from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo that he’ll use to buy three sets of computer equipment and another photocopier which will prepare them to take care of the great demand they have from students that crowd in to do homework and to work in the Internet. His goal for later on is to attain an environment that’s more comfortable each time and to generate employment but this time in a locale of their own which is this couple’s dream.
