A loan of $675 helped to purchase construction supplies for his house: iron, cement, sand, beams, etc.

Fernando Elias's story

He was born in the district of Chibuto, province of Gaza, southern Mozambique. He's married and has four children, and the oldest one of them attends school. He completed 5th grade and didn't continue due to lack of financial conditions. He lives with his family in a house he owns and also supports his brother who lives with him. He left Chibuto for Maputo in the district of Boane in search of a job. He has been a locksmith for over 10 years and earns an income of about 5.000mt. He uses it to pay for home expenses and also saves part of it in his bank account. He has never had loans in other banks. He first heard of Hluvuku through a friend who is also a client of this institution. This is his fifth loan with Hluvuku. It is for 18.000mt, which he intends to use to purchase construction supplies (iron, cement, sand, beams, etc.). The previous loans were for 6.000mt, 6.000mt, 12.000mt and 15.000mt and they were used for housing expenses and for his business. He pledges to make his repayments as scheduled. In the future he intends to finish building and furnishing his home, and for that purpose he plans to request more loans from Hluvuku.
