A loan of $575 helped to buy an industrial sewing machine and raw materials.

Benjamin's story

Benjamín manufactures women’s and children’s shoes that he sells directly to small businesses and general stores located near his workshop, to individuals who place orders and directly at the entrance to a sporting venue in the city. With his activity he’s managed to support his home consisting of his wife and one year old daughter. Benjamín plans to grow but must organize himself better, increasing working capital to respond in a timely fashion to his potential customers and to become a little more up to date technologically; this is precisely his great challenge. He currently sells both in cash and on credit and needs to buy an industrial sewing machine and production raw materials. This is the reason he’s calling on a Kiva loan, his first financing from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. This investment’s success resides in that he will attain improvements in productive time, increase quality of products and will attain discounts for paying cash and for volume purchases. His dream is to create jobs and increase income daily to increase his family’s wellbeing and make his daughter’s future success a reality.
