A loan of $975 helped to buy cement, rocks, metal sheets, beams, iron, and other materials to expand his home.

Armando Alberto's story

Armando was born in Boane district of Maputo in southern Mozambique. He is a married father of three children, one is nearly an adult and the other two are still attending school. Armando completed school through the fourth grade and had then to stop due to lack of financial support from his parents. He lives in his own home with his family and also supports an uncle who lives with them.

He works as a van driver for the past seven years and has a salary of 6.300.00mt per month, which he applies to household expenses and a small bank account.

He has never had a loan with other banks. He learned of Hluvuku through a friend who is also a client of the institution. This is his third loan from Hluvuku in the amount of 26.000.00mt with which he plans to purchase construction materials for work on his house (cement, stone, slabs, beams, iron, and others). The previous loans were 13.000.00mt and 15.000.00mt that were also used for housing projects.

He is committed to repaying the loan in the future and plans to complete his home and buy a motor for his car to increase his fleet of vans, hopefully with additional Hluvuku loans.
