Zurab's story

Zurab is a 34-year-old farmer from the village of Akhasheni, East Georgia. He is married and lives with his wife Marine, eight-year-old son and retired parents. Zurab’s son goes to a local school. Zurab and Marine earn a living through agriculture. They have a dairy cow and a calf. Marine makes cheese and sells it in the village. In addition, the family owns 0.4 hectares of vineyard. Zurab produces wine and sells it in the village as well. The family's total average monthly income is 700 Laris (GEL), including the monthly pensions of Zurab’s parents.
Zurab has requested credit to purchase feed for the cow. He will feed the cow with natural food and increase its productivity. Accordingly, the family will produce more cheese and make more income. They will be able to spend more on family needs and improve their living conditions.
