A loan of $3,650 helped a member to buy firewood and palm oil intended for resale.

Karambenor Group's story

The solidarity group was created on March 22, 2001. It is made up of 15 women who live in the same neighborhood. Their main activity is small-scale retail.

Mariama, who is on the right-hand side of the photo with her hand raised, is the group leader. She is 51 years old. She is married and mother of eight children. She also has seven other children entrusted to her care by their parents.

She sells firewood and palm oil. She has plenty of experience in this field, which she has been involved in for several years.

This loan will allow her to increase her capital and better develop her business.

The profits will allow her to improve the living conditions of her family (health, food, clothing, etc.) and increase her savings.
