María Elena's story

María Elena, 50, lives in her own house with her family, comprised of her husband and son. María has been in business making pupusas (stuffed tortillas) and tortillas for seven years. She has a good reputation and many fixed customers who prefer her because of her honesty and dependability, and because she is very charismatic and hygienic in running her business. Her stand is set up in her home which is on the main street of the town where she lives. This is an advantage for her since the customers like the easy access and, most of all, how shes receives them with a smile and kindness. The most important thing for her is her family and she works hard to provide them with everything they need. Therefore she has requested a loan through INTEGRAL to invest in her business. She will buy necessary ingredients such as corn, rice, cheese, pork cracklings, propane gas, salt, beans, etc. so she can attract even more customers. This will allow her to improve her family's quality of life.
