A loan of $375 helped to buy sacks of manure and a bag of pea seeds.

Miguel's story

Miguel, 20, is a single young man living alongside his parents in their house located in Palca-Tarma District. Miguel is an enthusiastic young man. At his age he already thinks like a mature person. He works in agriculture helping out in his parents’ fields. “I half-way farm; they put in the land and I put in the work and the seeds. When we harvest, we divide it in half,” he says adding that it’s an expedient way to work.

He likes growing peas, gladioli and potatoes. He sells his harvests in Tarma’s wholesale market. At the same time, Miguel is studying Industrial Electric Technology. His goals are clear. He plans to work until he finishes his studies and then practice a professional career. He still has two years to go and in the meantime he will continue to strive as he’s done to date.

Miguel will access his first loan with MFP. He thought the way his “Los Cantaritos” (The Little Pitchers) communal bank works was attractive so he didn’t hesitate to become part of it. He affirms that he will be responsible with his installment payments and with group activities. He will be able to buy sacks of manure with 400 soles of the money and one bag of pea seeds with 600 soles.
