A loan of $2,925 helped a member to buy wool.

Zapatito Veloz Group's story

The Zapatito Veloz communal bank will start its tenth cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Collpani communal center. It is comprised of eight members. They have a board of directors, and Filomena is the head of the board. The businesses that the members of the community bank are engaged in are varied and include: selling stoves, selling French fries, sewing sweatshirts, selling general plastic products, and sewing jackets.

Filomena says that she has been part of the communal bank for six months. She currently has a business selling blankets. She has been working this way for years, and she learned how to do so from her mother.

The loan for this cycle is to increase her merchandise. She will buy wool to make the blankets. She will buy this product at the market in La Paz, and she will later sell them at her sales location. This way of working allows her to support her family; she is single and has two children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer she answered that she likes the trainings and the unity of her group.

In this group: Filomena, Julia, Yobana, Antonia, Marisol, Vilma , Jovita Feliza , Nancy
