Maria Manuela's story

María Manuela, 23, is married and has a son; she lives with her husband and son in Guaranda, Bolívar Province. The “Mushuc Yuyay” communal bank is located thirty minutes from the office and it has ten members in the community of Quivillungo belonging to Guaranda. María grows lettuce, broccoli, onions and also raises animals like chicks and cattle. She asks for the loan to be able to buy seeds, fertilizer, urea, weed killers, onion plants and broccoli. Her purchases and sales take place in Guaranda every fifteen days. With help from the loan she will be able to increase production. Her dream is to have a vehicle for her family. In her free time she likes to rest and also to dance.
