Diambar Jiguén Group's story

The Diambar Jiguén group, which currently has 9 members, was formed at the same time as the banc villegeois. It comprises women from the same village with common social values; all of them are small retail traders. Nogoye, the leader of this group, is a 47 year old married woman; she is the mother of 3 children and in addition cares for 3 others. Nogoye (standing on the far left of the photo) is principally a vegetable trader. She has a lot of experience, having done this for almost 20 years. Her new loan of 170,000 XOF will allow her to buy stock (potatoes, onions, cabbages, tomatoes...) which she will re-sell at the local market in her village. the profits earned from this will allow her to help her husband meet the daily living expenses of the family.

In this group: Yacine, Nogoye, Nogoye, Fatou, Fatou, Aminata, Faka, Sokhna, Seynabou
