Sahr Eric's Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a partner of Kiva.org based in Makeni, is very pleased to present to you this group of teachers from Koidu, a city in eastern Sierra Leone. They have come to SMT/Kiva lenders seeking a loan of 3,000,000 Sierra Leonean leones (SLL) in order to meet their immediate financial challenges. At the end of each month, they will repay the loan using their monthly salaries.

Sahr Eric is the leader of this group of teachers. Sahr, 52, was born in the village of Torkpombu in eastern Sierra Leone. He is married to a trader and together they have three children, two in primary school and the third in college. Sahr has been a teacher for twenty years. He has requested this loan in order to buy building materials, such as bags of cement, iron and corrugated zinc, for the construction of a family dwelling.
