A loan of $375 helped to buy a sewing machine.

Jhon Karol's story

Jhon, age 34, lives with his parents in the city of Imperial. The city is known for its agriculture and for the generosity of its people. Jhon is very enthusiastic and hard-working. Above all, he is a loving son. He uses his work income to support his parents with the household expenses. They are 70 years old. In spite of the fact that they still have a lot of energy, they need his contribution.

Jhon has been buying and selling bags for four years. He buys small bags and later turns them into larges bags. He sells them at the market in his neighborhood. He believes that his business is going well for him because he likes his work. Above all else, it is going well because he is motivated to help his parents who have supported him so much.

Jhon is very grateful to the Kiva lenders. Thanks to the help they have given him he will be able to buy a new sewing machine. The one he has now is very old. This new one will allow him to sew the bags more quickly. That way he will continue in his struggle to get ahead and fulfill his big dream: To have more sewing machines and to be able to give work to other people in his neighborhood.
