Vilma's story

Vilma is a member of the 'Corazones Unidos' community bank which is located in Desaguadero district, in Chucuito province, in Puno department. She is 28 years old, lives with her partner, and has one child. She started but did not complete her higher education.

Vilma has been working with Movimiento Manuela Ramos for two years. Her first loan was for 500 soles and she invested that money in buying a variety of different products to sell.

Vilma is requesting a new loan for 2,000 soles to invest in buying five packets of streamers, a bundle of decorations, two bags of balloons, ten packets of foam, etc. to stock up for the carnival season. Sometimes Vilma's husband helps her in her business.

Vilma's dream for the future is to become a wholesaler in her business and to improve her income. What she most likes about her community bank are the business training sessions that their loan officer provides.
