A loan of $375 helped to buy a cow and some candy.

Victoria's story

Sra. Victoria is a member of the Communal Bank "Corazones Unidos" (United Hearts) which is in the District of Desaguadero in Chucuito Province, Department of Puno. She is 58 years old, married, and has three children who are independent. Victoria attended elementary school, but she did not finish.

She has worked with Manuela Ramos for seven years. Her first loan was in the amount of 300 PEN and invested in her business of selling candy, cookies, sodas, and fruit. At the same time, she sells animals and this is the main business that generates most of her income.

Victoria is requesting a new loan in the amount of 1000 PEN to invest in the purchase of a cow. She will also buy some candy for her other business. Victoria sells candy and fruit by herself, but when selling the animals, she has the help of her husband. Her dream for the future is to improve her business and then switch to another field that will generate more income. What she enjoys most about her Communal Bank are the meetings, the punctuality, and the responsibility.
